Please refrain from driving or operating machinery until you know how you react to this medicine. Do not drink alcohol while taking Effexor or venlafaxine. This medicine will exaggerate the effects of depressant medicines, such as certain anti-anxiety medications or beta blockers. Please consult your pharmacist if you are taking depressants. Use caution if this medicine is used in elderly patients as they are more sensitive to the effects and potential side effects, especially low sodium levels.
